HRC Los Angeles Web Content Manager

Do you have webmaster skills and would like to donate your time to your GLBT community as part of the HRC Los Angeles Steering Committee (LA SC)?

The LA SC plans and coordinates the HRC events in Los Angeles and serves the local GLBT community. We have an opening in our SC operations for Web Content Manager.

Web Content Manager

- Maintain Steering Committee webpage and ensure its content is reflective of Steering Committee Activities.
- Coordinate with Steering Committee members to drive traffic to Community Web Pages as a tool for event, membership, and volunteer involvement and promotion.
- Responsible for editing, uploading, and updating news, photo, and event content for the LA Steering Committee web page, http://www.hrc.org/la
- Responsible for coordinating with Steering Committee members to ensure events are accurate and up to date, and that photos are taken for display on steering committee web page
- Using Web Content Manager Handbook and HRC staff as resources, learn to utilize web content management software for uploading and updating content
- Regularly review all of the content on Steering Committee page
Ensure on a monthly to a bi-monthly basis that the Steering Committee page is vibrant and accurate, with new stories and photos displaying the work of the committee
- Work with Steering Committee sub-committee co-chairs to publicize local activities and events through news stories, event postings and photos
- Communicate regularly with HRC staff to maintain current information and correct contacts for volunteer and “contact us” forms
- Ensure that Steering Committee sub-committee co-chairs are listing local webpage address on all invitations and official communications

- Experience with Google Apps and Facebook also helpful
